We love the British Summertime and what better way to celebrate it than going out for a picnic?
Disappointed at the range of flimsy over priced plastic hampers available, we decided to create our own, which is a collection of our favourite china pieces, some that have been in our family for a while and other unusual pieces that we have picked up along the way
Armed with a flask of tea, sandwiches, cakes, fruit and maybe some wine, we take to fields, rivers and parks to enjoy Al fresco dining. To us, a picnic is not a picnic, unless its presented on fine bone china
We adore our picnic hamper so much, that we have scoured the length and breadth of the country, collecting pieces to create more.
We offer two types of picnic hamper: Harlequin and Classic.
Our Harlequin Hampers are a collection of beautiful mismatched British china pieces: tea cups, saucers, sandwich plates, side plates, classic cutlery and everything else that you might need so that you can get up and go as soon as the sun comes out!
If you have particular tastes and would prefer a colour theme or matching pattern, then a Classic Hamper might be more appealing to you. Our Classic Hampers contain everything that a Harlequin Hamper does. The only thing that is different, is that everything matches
Once we have selected the china to be re homed, we select a good quality and suitably sized cane hamper and refit it to give it a new lease of life.
We fit them with new board which is then padded and covered with fabric. A variety of fabrics are used, and fabric is selected to suit the hamper contents. We have been known to use peppermint striped cotton, raw pink silk and deep red velvet.
After the hamper has been relined, we use new leather strapping and brass rivets to make setting holders that ensure the china is secured and safe
